WHY CENTRED
SPACES EXISTS

Gena Drinnan, Founder & Home Wellness Specialist

I moved houses 21 times by the age of 18.

I grew up with a single mother and two siblings. I am the youngest. We lived below the poverty line in New Zealand, and stability was not something we had. At one point, we were homeless and living in a family member’s shed. Because of this, home never felt permanent. It was something you adapted to, not something you settled into. I learned how to adjust quickly, but I did not learn how to feel grounded.

As I grew older, I became deeply aware of how much I longed for calm, ease, and a sense of arrival. The simple feeling of exhaling and knowing you are safe. To me, home represents grounding.
It represents steadiness, regulation, and rest. It is not just a place. It is a feeling.

In my teenage years, we moved to Australia. Around this time, my mum had a stroke and later developed symptoms associated with an acquired brain injury, including secondary hoarding.

I know what it feels like to feel overwhelmed by your own space.
The quiet shame.
The guilt.
The constant background tension.

Those experiences taught me that our environments affect us deeply. When our space feels heavy or chaotic, our bodies carry that weight every day. Centred Spaces was created from this understanding. My work is about helping people create environments that feel supportive rather than stressful. Spaces that feel calm, grounded, and kind.

This is not about perfection or minimalism.
It is about relief.
It is about room to breathe.
It is about feeling safe in the place you return to.

If this resonates with you, you're welcome to explore how we can create a space that supports you. If you're ready to begin, the next simple step is here.

"Gena is a godsend, her attention to detail with cleaning and home making are outstanding, our home is spotless and smells divine. I couldn't recommend Centred Spaces enough! Simply brilliant."
